Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet, chaired today Aug. 12, in NEOM by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, approved a one-year extension from Oct. 24, for Paragraph (A) of Item (First) in Royal Decree No. M/14 dated Oct. 31, 2018.

The clause requires labor lawsuits to be filed first with the Labor Office, which must attempt an amicable settlement before the case goes to labor courts, Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Cabinet had previously extended the rule for three years in 2021, after its initial approval in 2018.
