The National Center for Curriculum Development (NCCD), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Saudi Data AI Authority (SDAIA), announced that artificial intelligence curriculum will be implemented across all stages of general education starting from the 2025/2026 academic year.
The new curriculum will feature specialized AI learning units designed for each age group, to be delivered through interactive and practical approaches. The plans also include mechanisms to ensure knowledge continuity across educational stages and gradual building of skills. The learning outcomes will be integrated into the comprehensive evaluation system used to assess student performance and achievement, state-run news agency SPA reported.
This move aligns with the goals of the Human Capabilities Development Program, a key component of Saudi Vision 2030, by building an inclusive education system that reinforces values and enhances the Kingdom’s global competitiveness and leadership in AI. It aims to empower students by acquiring qualitative skills that prepare them for the digital age, enabling them to provide innovative solutions from early stages of general education, through higher education and technical and vocational training, and continuing into lifelong learning.
