‎Saudi Arabia ranks high among emerging markets: HSBC

Camille Asmar, Head of Equities for Europe and Emerging Markets at HSBC, said that GCC markets have proven their resilience amid global volatility, highlighting that Saudi Arabia’s ranking has advanced on emerging market indices, surpassing countries such as Brazil in terms of relative weight.
In an interview with Argaam on the sidelines of HSBC’s GCC Exchanges Conference in London, he added that privatization and the SME sector in the GCC represent unique opportunities not found in other emerging markets, stressing that the bank continues to help international investors explore these opportunities, amid growing global interest in the region and the decline in the geopolitical risk premium.
