Saudi Arabia will allow individuals to directly import new vehicles from foreign manufacturers without intermediaries, Warranties on imported vehicles will remain valid through local dealerships, Al Eqtisadiah reported, citing government sources.

Local dealerships must provide spare parts and repair services to consumers. Non-compliance will trigger penalties under existing regulations.

The General Authority of Zakat, Tax, and Customs (ZATCA) recently enabled individuals to self-import personal vehicles.

Importers can complete procedures via land or sea customs ports by submitting documents through the authority’s online portal, according to Argaam’s data.
