Saudi Arabia has temporarily shut down some operating units at the Ras Tanura oil refinery as a precautionary measure. Oil supplies to the local market are unaffected, SPA reported, citing an official source at the Ministry of Energy.
At 7:04 am today, the refinery sustained limited damage as debris fell from the interception of two drones in the vicinity of the facility.
The source added that this led to a minor fire, which was immediately contained by emergency response teams. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
