RIYADH — Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Diori Hamani Airport in Niamey, the capital of Niger, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries.In a statement, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its firm stance against all forms of violence and extremism, particularly attacks targeting civilians. The Kingdom offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Niger, and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The attack took place at the Diori Hamani International Airport, which also houses an air force base and lies about 10 kilometers from the presidential palace. Niger’s military authorities said 20 attackers were killed during the fighting, while four soldiers were wounded.
