Saudi Arabia condemns storming of Kuwait consulate in Basra

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has condemned the storming and vandalism of Kuwait’s Consulate General in the Iraqi city of Basra.In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a blatant violation of the sanctity of the consular mission.The ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm rejection of such irresponsible acts.It also stressed the obligation of states to ensure full protection of consular personnel and premises, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963.
