Saleh Al-Rasheed RCMC CEO says planned Makkah airport aims to meet global standards without impacting nearby hubs
Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC) has completed in-depth studies to implement Makkah City Airport, in accordance with the global specifications, without affecting the economic feasibility of airports in the neighboring cities. 
The airport’s strategic, economic, and investment plans were approved, said the commission CEO Saleh Al-Rasheed, in an interview with Harvard Business Review.
“Work will proceed with the private sector to develop the most suitable model for this investment,” he added.
Al-Rasheed also noted that Makkah Metro project feasibility studies and initial designs were completed and submitted to the relevant authorities to finalize the necessary procedures.
