RIYADH — The Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia and the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport jointly announced that 2029 will be designated as the Saudi–UK Cultural Year, on the sidelines of the official visit of Britain’s Prince William, Prince of Wales, to the Kingdom.The announcement reflects the strength of bilateral ties between the two countries, which span more than a century and have evolved into a multidimensional strategic partnership.The relationship has expanded across culture, education and innovation, underscoring shared values and a mutual commitment to long-term cooperation.Cultural collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom has witnessed notable growth in recent years, emerging as a key pillar of the broader partnership. Joint initiatives have included cooperation in heritage preservation, visual arts, culinary arts, architecture and higher education.The growing momentum in cultural exchange lays the foundation for the Saudi–UK Cultural Year 2029, which will run for a full year and celebrate creative dialogue, shared cultural heritage and strengthened people-to-people ties between the two nations.
