Saudi air defenses destroy 64 drones across Riyadh and Eastern regions

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that 64 drones were intercepted and destroyed over the Riyadh and Eastern regions since early Monday morning. The first announcement came when a drone was intercepted in the Eastern Province in the middle of the night. A couple of hours later, seven more drones were intercepted in the Eastern Province, followed by six more intercepted in the same region and hour. Twelve more drones were reportedly intercepted and destroyed in the Eastern regions, followed by the interception of nine drones in the same region. An hour later, the ministry annunced that an additional three drones were intercepted over the Eastern Province, with eleven more following the hour after. Later in the morning, the ministry announced the interception of twelve more drones over the Eastern Province, along with three more drones intercepted across the Riyadh and Eastern regions two hours later.
