Qualified foreign investors (QFIs) were net purchasers of more than SAR 8 billion worth of shares on the Main Market (TASI) in September — the highest monthly level since June 2019, according to data issued by Tadawul. 
The surge in foreign inflows came as the Capital Market Authority (CMA) moves closer to approving a key amendment to raise the foreign ownership limit in listed companies beyond the current 49% cap, with the decision expected to take effect before year-end, Bloomberg reported earlier, citing Abdulaziz bin Hassan, a CMA board member.
Meanwhile, Saudi individual investors were net sellers of shares worth around SAR 7.2 billion, while investment funds offloaded approximately SAR 732 million. Saudi corporations recorded net sales of about SAR 7.5 billion.
Meanwhile, government entities were net buyers of TASI shares valued at roughly SAR 7.3 billion, supported bythe Public Investment Fund’s acquisition of a 54% stake in MBC Group Co. for SAR 7.47 billion.
