Six companies from the Philippines, currently visiting Saudi Arabia, are exploring investment and commercial opportunities in the local market, mainly in the food manufacturing and personal care sectors.
Vince Liwanag, Commercial Attaché from the Philippines Embassy in Riyadh said these companies operate large manufacturing facilities in the Philippines and already export products to Saudi Arabia. One personal care company has branches in Riyadh and Dammam.
According to Al Eqtisadiah newspaper, Liwanag said the Philippines firms are planning to expand in Saudi Arabia by forming partnerships with major retailers, such as Panda Retail and Danube, amid rising demand for Philippine products.
Several Philippine companies are already investing in Saudi Arabia, including Jollibee and Chowking in the food sector, as well as Dammam-based EEI Corporation in the construction sector, Liwanag concluded.
