ISLAMABAD — Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned missile and drone attacks carried out by Iran targeting energy facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region, describing them as a serious escalation and a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty. In a statement, the Government of Pakistan expressed deep concern over the attacks and deplored the damage to vital infrastructure. Islamabad reaffirmed its “unwavering support” for Saudi Arabia’s security and said it stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom during the ongoing developments. The statement described the attacks as a dangerous escalation that undermines regional peace and stability. Meanwhile, Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed 18 drones over several hours on Tuesday, according to Ministry of Defense spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki. The drone interceptions came just hours after Saudi defenses shot down 11 ballistic missiles over the Eastern Province earlier in the day. Debris from the intercepted missiles fell near energy facilities, with authorities continuing to assess potential damage.
