RIYADH — More than 6.5 million school students across all levels of general education in Saudi Arabia returned to their classrooms as the second semester of the current academic year commenced on Sunday following the 16-day Eid Al-Fitr holidays. The Ministry of Education stressed the importance of maintaining discipline and punctuality on the part of both the teaching and administrative staff and students from the very first day of the second semester of the academic year.“Absences will be monitored through the Noor electronic system, and parents will be notified of the absences through approved communication channels,” the ministry said. According to the academic calendar, the Eid Al-Adha holiday is scheduled to begin at the end of the school day on Dhul Hijjah 5 and will last for ten days.
