Mohammed Elkuwaiz, Chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA), said that the regulator’s decision to allow new categories of qualified investors to enter the Nomu-Parallel Market is expected to provide more resilience in the market without compromising the integrity of trading activities.

He also highlighted that the access of such categories into the market will likely boost liquidity and help create a more dynamic market that serves the needs of both investors and companies.

According to Argaam’s data, CMA’s board yesterday approved opening Nomu to bachelor’s degree holders in a number of securities-related disciplines, allowing them to qualify as eligible investors in Nomu. The measure is part of a set of amendments and facilitations that ease requirements for investors to be classified as qualified participants permitted to trade and invest in the parallel market.
