OPEC+ is expected to adhere to its existing plan for a gradual increase in oil production starting in April when its monitoring committee meets on Monday, despite US President Donald Trump urging the group to lower prices, OPEC delegates said.
Four OPEC+ sources told Reuters that the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) is unlikely to recommend a production increase beyond what has already been planned.
“We think the intention remains to stay the course,” Helima Croft, an analyst at Capital Markets, said in a note.
In December 2024, the alliance extended production cuts until the first quarter of 2025, delaying its planned output increase until April.
