Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan said that the Middle East and Africa hold approximately 48% of global oil reserves and are rich in minerals, with the region being a leader in mining. He emphasized that if these resources are leveraged and combined with the region’s young workforce, it could lead to extraordinary achievements.

During the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Al-Jadaan highlighted that, unlike most other regions of the world, the Middle East is youthful, with the majority of its population being young and proficient in technology, ready to drive change.

He underscored the importance of focusing on human capital and enhancing capabilities. He pointed out that, in a survey of companies in the Middle East and North Africa, they reported a mismatch in skills, explaining that there is unemployment despite companies actively seeking employees but struggling to find candidates due to this skill gap.

The minister noted that he believes the region is on the right path toward 2025, despite some challenges. However, if regional stability is achieved and technology is utilized to enhance competitiveness, a new era for the region could emerge.
