Compared to December 2025, Saudi merchandise imports rose 3%, or nearly SAR 2.7 billion.

Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports rose 7% year-on-year (YoY) to nearly SAR 81.4 billion in January 2026,according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Compared to December 2025, merchandise importsfell 3%,or nearly SAR 2.7 billion.

Machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment and parts thereof accounted for the largest share of imports in January, totaling SAR 24.7 billion, or about 30% of the Kingdom’s total. Vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and transport equipment followed at around 14%.
