Maharah Human Resources Co.received a new directive from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) outlining new quotas for domestic workers.
The circular specifies that companies must maintain a minimum percentage of domestic workers relative to their overall workforce.
In a statement to Tadawul, Maharah pointed out that the percentage will vary based on the total number of domestic workers employed. For companies with fewer than 3,000 domestic workers, the quota is set at 30%.
This decreases to 20% for those with between 3,000 and 10,000 workers, and 10% for companies with 10,000 to 15,000 domestic workers. Companies with more than 15,000 domestic workers are exempt from the quota.
The new regulations is effective as of January 5.
