Speaking to Argaam during the third Local Content Award, Al Samari said work is underway on several strategic indicators, including tracking government compliance with regulations and cutting import dependence.

He said around 1,200 products were on the mandatory list in 2024, with plans to add over 400 more in 2025, pushing the total beyond 1,500.

Al Samari stressed the need for cooperation between government bodies and the private sector to hit national targets. He highlighted a focus on security-critical sectors such as pharmaceuticals, desalination, and logistics, especially amid large-scale projects like the land bridge and railway networks.

He also noted growing attention to promising sectors like entertainment, tourism, and sports, with efforts to partner with industry leaders to boost their local content contribution.

Al Samari said the third Local Content Award is a strategic initiative to drive broader use of local goods and services, reflecting growing support for the private sector and Vision 2030 objectives.
