Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced that a number of operational facilities owned by its subsidiaries Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (KNPC) and Petrochemical Industries Co. (PIC) were attached today by Iranian drone attacks. The incident resulted in fires breaking out at several facilities and caused “significant” material damage. 
In a press statement, KPC said that emergency and firefighting teams from the concerned companies, backed by the General Fire Force, immediately began implementing approved response plans. It added that specialized teams are working efficiently to contain the fires and prevent them from spreading to other facilities.
The company also confirmed that no human injuries were reported and that all necessary precautionary measures were taken to ensure worker safety and secure the facilities.
“We are coordinating with relevant authorities to assess the damage resulting from the incident,” it added, reaffirming its full commitment to applying the highest standards of safety and security.
According to available data with Argaam, the Abu Dhabi Media Office also announced earlier today that several fires at Borouge’s petrochemical plant were brought under control after debris fell following a successful interception by air defense systems.
Additionally, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. reported that a number of its operational units were targeted in the early hours of Sunday by Iranian drones, resulting in fires at those units.
