RIYADH — Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, minister of interior, chaired on Monday the 33rd annual meeting of the emirs of Saudi Arabia’s regions, held via videoconference.At the outset of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, reaffirming the leadership’s directives to preserve security and facilitate all matters concerning citizens, residents and visitors across the Kingdom.The interior minister and the emirs emphasized the leadership’s guidance to strengthen security and stability amid current regional developments, mobilizing all capabilities to safeguard everyone living in the Kingdom and to host stranded Gulf Cooperation Council citizens at airports inside and outside the country.They also expressed appreciation to the King and the Crown Prince for the services provided to pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan, commending the efforts of all sectors involved and praying for the continued security and prosperity of the Kingdom.The meeting reviewed agenda items aimed at reinforcing security and stability, achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, and enhancing services nationwide.Discussions also covered reports and working papers focused on strengthening the capabilities of regional governorates, supporting development opportunities, empowering the non-profit sector and contributing to improved quality of life in line with Vision 2030.Participants also discussed the continued development of administrative and developmental services through aligning supervisory jurisdictions among government entities, leveraging artificial intelligence technologies and advancing smart digital government to achieve excellence in public sector performance.At the conclusion of the meeting, they reached a number of recommendations to be submitted to the King and the Crown Prince.
