RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued a royal order approving the establishment of the Riyadh University of Arts. The Riyadh-based new university will be an independent educational institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. With legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy, the university is dedicated to specialized education in culture and the arts, aiming to cultivate national talent across creative disciplines through advanced academic programs aligned with global best practices and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.The royal order authorized the minister of culture to exercise the powers of the Board of Trustees until it is formally constituted, ensuring the swift completion of organizational procedures to begin operations. To enhance its academic mission, the university will seek partnerships with prestigious international institutions to exchange expertise and develop high-level educational programs.This initiative underscores the leadership’s commitment to bolstering the Kingdom’s position as a regional cultural hub and fostering the growth of its creative industries. Minister of Culture and Riyadh University of Arts Board of Trustees Chairman Prince Badr bin Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the royal order approving the university’s establishment, extending his gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their commitment to enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and global cultural role and solidifying its position as a creative economy leader.Prince Badr noted that Riyadh University of Arts is a key initiative of the National Culture Strategy, aimed at developing Saudi competencies to meet the growing demand in the cultural sectors. Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the university’s vision focuses on global leadership in arts and culture, striving to enhance the cultural, scientific, and economic landscapes through specialized academic programs and advanced research initiatives.
