BEIRUT — The Israeli army carried out a drone strike Sunday targeting a vehicle in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, according to Lebanese media reports.Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) said an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle struck a car traveling between the towns of Barish and Maaroub in the Tyre district. No immediate details were available on casualties or the extent of damage.The strike comes amid repeated Israeli violations of a ceasefire agreement reached with Lebanon in November 2024. Israel has said it continues to target what it describes as Hezbollah infrastructure.Lebanese authorities say the ongoing violations have killed and wounded hundreds of people. Israel also continues to occupy five strategic hilltops in southern Lebanon seized during the latest conflict, in addition to other Lebanese territory it has held for decades.Israel began military operations against Lebanon in October 2023, which escalated into a full-scale war in September 2024. The conflict has killed more than 4,000 people in Lebanon and wounded about 17,000 others, according to Lebanese figures.
