JERUSALEM — Israel said Wednesday that an airstrike targeted Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib as hostilities between the two sides continue to escalate.Israeli Channel 12 reported that authorities are still assessing the results of the strike, without providing further details.The development comes as Israel and the United States continue a joint offensive on Iran that began on Feb. 28.The campaign has reportedly killed around 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruption to global markets and aviation.
