The Saudi Ministry of Investment granted HSBC Bank a license to establish a regional headquarters (RHQ) to provide capital markets and financial advisory services.

The bank stated, in a press release, that this RHQ, named HSBC Capital RHQ, will enable the bank to provide support to international clients and achieve further growth at the local level.

It added that this development comes following HSBC Bank’s review of its investment banking operations in May 2025, during which the group announced improved investment in its capital markets and mergers acquisitions (MA) activities in the Middle East. These investments seek to support and enhance the bank’s current financing facilities and corporate solutions.

Moreover, Faris AlGhannam will serve as the CEO of HSBC Capital RHQ in addition to his current role as CEO and Board Member of HSBC Saudi Arabia, the statement added.

AlGhannam stated, “The leadership of Saudi Arabia’s private and public markets across the region, alongside the diversity of markets’ sectors in the Kingdom, further reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a hub for investment banking services and capital markets in the Middle East.”
