A total of three applications from international insurers are seeking licenses to operate in the Saudi market, Asharq TV reported, citing the Insurance Authority (IA) CEO, Naji Al-Tamimi.

On the sidelines of the 2026 annual meetings of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, Al-Tamimi said that the IA will meet in Zurich next Friday with five to six of global insurance and reinsurance giants.

The IA aims to ensure strong competitiveness in the Saudi insurance sector and to provide customers with a wide range of choices in order to attract innovation and emerging solutions.

Al-Tamimi affirmed that the IA is focused on attracting companies with adequate financial solvency and stability, highlighting that quality outweighs quantity in ensuring continuity, sustainability, and the delivery of appropriate solutions to customers.
