RIYADH — The Filipino conjoined twins, Olivia and Gianna Manuel, arrived in Riyadh on Monday evening in preparation for their separation surgery in the Kingdom, in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The Saudi Embassy in the Philippines monitored the twins’ departure from Manila International Airport to Riyadh starting Monday morning, in coordination with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in the medical field. This initiative reflects the Kingdom’s leading role in this area, as the Saudi Program for Conjoined Twins has successfully performed 67 separation surgeries for conjoined twins from 28 countries worldwide over the past 35 years. Born in April 2024, Olivia and Gianna are joined from the chest to the abdomen. The conjoined twins were accompanied by their parents.
