Ali Mansour to take over as CEO of eXtra
United Electronics Co.’s (eXtra) board of directors accepted, on Feb. 16, the resignation of Managing Director and CEO Mohamed Galal for personal reasons, effective Feb. 28.
The company appointed Ali Mansour as CEO, effective March 1.
In a statement to Tadawul, the company said Galal will retain his membership on the board as a non-executive director, in addition to chairing the strategy and future projects committee.
Ali Mansour currently serves as CEO of the retail segment at eXtra—a role he has held since 2019.
He joined the company in 2004 and has more than 20 years of experience in the retail and consumer electronics sector.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the American University of Beirut (AUB).
According to data available with Argaam, Galal served as CEO of eXtra for 10 years starting in 2016.
He previously held the positions of General Manager and CEO from 2004 to 2013.
