US stock futures fell Monday morning, trailing sharp losses in Asian markets, amid widespread fears of an escalation in the trade war that Washington sparked last week.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 2.85%, or 1,101 points, to 37,429 at 6:33 am Makkah time, after touching 36,708 (-1,822 points) earlier in the session.

SP 500 futures fell 3.50% to 4,930 points, while Nasdaq futures lost 4.45% to 16,755 points.

Over the past week, the Dow Jones lost more than 3,200 points, or about 8%, the SP 500 declined 9%, and the Nasdaq shed 10%.

By the end of Friday’s trading, the SP 500 fell nearly 17% since hitting its all-time high on Feb. 19.

The index will enter a bear market alongside the Nasdaq if it closes Monday’s main trading session below 4,915.32.
