POS sales in Saudi Arabia grew 7% YoY to SAR 59.9 billion in October 2025

Consumer spending in Saudi Arabia rose 14% to SAR 138.2 billion in October 2025, compared to about SAR 121.6 billion in the same month of 2024.
Consumer spending in Saudi Arabia includes total cash withdrawals, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and e-commerce sales through the Mada network.
POS sales in Saudi Arabia grew 7% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 59.9 billion in October 2025.
Sales in October were carried out through over 1 billion transactions across2.3 million POS devices.
POS transactions represent consumer spending through debit and credit cards in shopping malls, retail outlets, pharmacies, and other stores.
Meanwhile, cash withdrawals from ATMs dropped by 0.2% YoY to about SAR 47.6 billion in October 2025.
These withdrawals were conducted through 15,000 ATMs across banks and the Saudi network, via 128.6 million transactions. The total number of issued bank cards reached 62 million.
E-commerce sales through Mada cards amounted to SAR 30.7 billion in October 2025, marking a 68% leap compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the Saudi Central Bank’s (SAMA) monthly data, these sales were carried out through 170.8 million transactions.
E-commerce sales include purchases made using Mada cards through online shopping websites and mobile applications, excluding transactions made via Visa, Mastercard, and other credit cards.
