City Cement Co. signed an agreement today, Feb. 3, with the National Electricity Transmission Co., a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Co., to implement a project for the construction of an electricity transmission station aimed at providing electrical service to the company’s plant located in Nisah district, with a load capacity of 105.5 MVA. It comes as part of the Liquid Fuel Substitution Program, in accordance with the signed agreement, which is valid until Dec. 31, 2025 or until the completion of the project.

According to a statement to Tadawul, the agreement is an extension of the efforts of the energy system and the Industrial and mining sector to achieve the objectives of liquid fuel displacement.

Further, the project will contribute to reducing emissions from electricity generation within the company’s facilities, said the company, adding that the related financial impact will be disclosed at a later date.
