Chang Hua China’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Chang Hua, said that Chinese railway companies are planning to bid for the contract to build the proposed Line 7 of the Riyadh Metro.

In comments to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper, the ambassador confirmed signs of Chinese involvement in the project, with competition already underway.

He also highlighted that China’s trains are among the fastest in the world, with speeds exceeding 350 kilometers per hour (KM/h) and approaching 600 KM/h.

According to data from Argaam, MEED magazine earlier reported that the new Line 7 of the Riyadh Metro will be executed in two phases. The first phase will involve constructing the metro line linking Qiddiya, King Salman Park, and Diriyah Gate, covering a total distance of about 65 kilometers.

The Head of Development at Qiddiya Company had previously stated to Argaamthat there are plans to link the project to Riyadh Airport via the metro, and it will also be linked to other means of public transportation in Riyadh.
