Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) said it will hold its general assembly on Oct. 19, to vote on filing a liability lawsuit against Sabri Al-Ghamdi, former board member, managing director and CEO, and against Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Zunaidi, former board member. The assembly will also vote on authorizing the board to take the necessary legal and regulatory actions.

Chemanol’s board on Sept. 25 recommended submitting to the general assembly a proposal to sue Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Zunaidi for violations committed during his tenure as a board member or in executive roles, whether through direct or indirect authority, according to Argaam’s data.

The company said the violations include breaches of the Companies Law, the Capital Market Law and its implementing regulations, or other relevant rules, and asked the assembly to authorize the board to take the required legal steps.
