Carrefour announced the suspension of all its commercial operations in both Kuwait and Bahrain.
In an official statement to customers, the company said its stores in Bahrain and Kuwait will close as of Sept. 14 and Sept. 16, 2025, respectively.
This decision follows similar steps taken by the company in Jordan in November 2024 and Oman in January 2025, where the Carrefour brand was replaced with HyperMax.
The same transition is expected to take place in Bahrain and Kuwait, with the new brand to be launched in both markets in the coming period.
Majid Al Futtaim, which has the exclusive rights to operate the Carrefour brand in 12 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia since 1995, introduced the HyperMax brand in 2024 to compensate for Carrefour’s gradual exit from certain markets.
