The business sector’s total operating revenues rose to SAR 5.5 trillion in 2024,increasing 3.9% year-on-year (YoY),according to the Structural Business Statistics issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Total operating expenditures reached SAR 2.37 trillion during the year, recording a growth rate of 9.3%.
Employee compensation amounted to approximately SAR 588.8 billion, up 8.1%YoY, the data showed.
Operating revenues refer to cash revenues generated from an establishment’s core activity or other secondary activities, while operating expenditures represent the value of goods and services actually consumed during the fiscal year as a result of economic activity. Operating surplus is defined as total revenues minus total expenditures and compensation.
