Bahrain’s Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) announced that several of its operating units were targeted in the early hours today, April 5, by Iranian drones, triggering fires across affected facilities.

All fires have since been fully extinguished, and the situation is now under control, the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported. There were no casualties.

Damage assessment teams are on the ground to determine the full extent of the impact.

Saudi Arabia’s SABIC Agri-Nutrients Co., Bahrain’s Bapco Energies and Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Co. each hold a 33.3% stake in GPIC.

According to data available with Argaam, the Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO) announced earlier today that several fires broke out at the Borouge petrochemical plant after falling debris struck the plant following a successful air defense interception.
