Al-Babtain Power and Telecommunications Co. announced that its cybersecurity team detected an attempted breach on a server belonging to one of its subsidiaries in Egypt. In response, the company immediately began implementing its approved cybersecurity protocols and precautionary measures across all servers of the parent company and its subsidiaries.
In a statement to Tadawul, the company pointed out that one of the subsidiary’s servers in Egypt was compromised, noting that the targeted server was a non-primary, backup database server.
Al Babtain confirmed that the incident had no impact on the company’s data or operations, as the compromised server is not connected to the parent company or its subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia. The company emphasized that it relies on primary servers located within the Kingdom.
