TABUK — Al Ahli Saudi FC winger Riyad Mahrez has called on his side to remain fully focused as they intensify their push for the Roshn Saudi League title, following a commanding 3-0 victory over NEOM Sports Club on Saturday night. The Asian champions extended their excellent form with a seventh consecutive league win, a run that has propelled them back into second place and within four points of leaders Al Hilal SFC. Ivan Toney opened the scoring in Tabuk from the penalty spot, taking his league tally to 15 goals this season. The England forward now sits second in the 2025–26 scoring charts, trailing only Cristiano Ronaldo, who leads the race with 16 goals. Mahrez added his name to the scoresheet with a superbly executed free-kick from the edge of the penalty area, before Enzo Millot wrapped up the win midway through the second half. All three goals came during a blistering 12-minute spell that put the result beyond doubt. The victory saw coach Matthias Jaissle guide Al Ahli back above Al Nassr FC in the standings, reinforcing their credentials as genuine title contenders. Speaking after the match, Mahrez praised the team’s mentality while stressing the importance of consistency. “Thanks to God, we’re happy,” Mahrez said. “The most important thing for us is to take the three points and keep going, and that’s what we did today. Maybe we didn’t play as well in the first half, but in the second half we changed a few things and we were better.” Reflecting on Al Ahli’s impressive winning run, the former Manchester City star added: “It’s not easy. You have to stay focused. Every three days you play a tough game because every opponent gives you something different. We have to recover, enjoy the win a little tonight, and then tomorrow start thinking about the next match.” Al Ahli will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Al Ettifaq FC, as the title race continues to intensify at the top of the Roshn Saudi League.
