RIYADH — Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles launched toward Riyadh and other regions early Sunday, as Civil Defense issued emergency warnings across several areas. Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, announced that air defenses had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the Eastern Province in the early hours of Sunday. A few hours later, Al-Malki confirmed the interception and destruction of two additional ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh. Two cruise missiles targeting Riyadh and southern regions of Saudi Arabia were also intercepted later in the morning. Meanwhile, Saudi Civil Defense issued a series of early warnings alerting residents to potential danger and urging them to take precautions and follow safety instructions. The first warning was issued in Dammam, in the Eastern Province, early Sunday, followed by Al Ahsa approximately an hour later and Buqayq a few hours afterward. Warnings were subsequently issued for the Riyadh and Najran regions later that morning. Civil Defense issued all-clear notifications shortly after each warning, confirming that the danger had passed in the affected areas.
