RIYADH — Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel visited on Sunday those, who are admitted to Riyadh hospitals, after sustaining injuries in the terrorist Houthi militia attack on King Khalid International Airport. The minister reassured their health and followed up on the level of utmost medical care being provided to them. During the visit, the minister listened to a briefing from the medical teams treating the injured about their condition and the medical services they are receiving. Those whom the minister visited include an Omani doctor who arrived at the airport to travel to Jeddah in order to perform Umrah.He emphasized the health system’s commitment to providing the necessary care and monitoring the injured until their full recovery, in accordance with the directives of the Saudi leadership.The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced on Saturday that the attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of 12 people and injuries to 309 others who are receiving necessary medical care in several hospitals. GACA stated that those killed in the attack include four citizens and eight expatriates, including two Bangladeshis, one American, Egyptian, Jordanian, Syrian, Palestinian, and Sudanese each. Meanwhile, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said on Sunday that at least one Indian was killed and 10 were wounded in the Riyadh airport attack, and that the Embassy of India in Riyadh is in touch with local authorities.In a statement, the embassy said it is following up on “the dastardly attack” on Riyadh airport. “It is learnt that one Indian national injured in the Riyadh attack has unfortunately lost his life today. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We are in touch with the family and will provide all support for ensuring the early repatriation of mortal remains,” it said. “The embassy has been in touch with local authorities to enquire about their well-being. Our officials have also reached out to the hospital authorities. We will provide further updates as they become available,” the statement added. Six Pakistanis are also among those injured in the attack. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed for their speedy recovery. In a statement on his X account, Sharif said: “I am deeply saddened to learn that six Pakistani nationals got injured as a result of Houthis attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. I pray for their speedy recovery. Our Embassy in Riyadh is in close contact with the Saudi authorities and is extending all possible assistance to the affected families,” he said.
