The Ministry of Energy awarded on Oct. 4 Natural Gas Distribution Co. (NGDC) a license to build, own, and operate a natural gas distribution network in Al-Kharj Industrial City, according to0 a statement.

The ministry said it had completed the qualification of bidders, launched the tender, and evaluated the bids. The tender is part of efforts to strengthen natural gas infrastructure, encourage investment in the sector, and support the Liquid Fuel Displacement Program, which aims to replace liquid fuels with natural gas.

According to Argaam data, the ministry announced in February that eight companies and seven consortia had qualified to compete for licenses to build, own, and operate natural gas distribution networks in several industrial cities, including Al-Kharj Industrial City. The tender was subsequently launched and the bids evaluated.
