The contract covers additional trains for the following lines:

– Line 3 (Orange Line): Madinah Road corridor.

– Line 4 (Yellow Line): King Khalid International Airport Road corridor.

– Line 6 (Purple Line): Abdulrahman bin Auf Road–Sheikh Hassan bin Hussein Road corridor.

In a statement, Alstom said the new trains will increase the network’s passenger capacity and enable more frequent services to meet growing demand for metro transportation.

The company will also maintain the trains under the existing operations and maintenance contract covering the three lines.

The new order builds on Alstom’s partnership with the RCRC and follows the delivery of 116 driverless trains for the Riyadh Metro network.

The metro has carried more than 100 million passengers since opening to the public in late 2024.
