Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Co. said work is underway on its solar power purchase project with French energy company ENGIE, with completion now expected in Q3 2027. 
The company said in a Tadawul statement that the delay is due to ongoing contractual, regulatory, and technical procedures to modify the project scope and relocate it to a single site that allows integration with future electricity sources.
The work also includes completing grid connection requirements and necessary technical updates in line with the requirements of relevant authorities, as well as obtaining all required approvals.
According to Argaam data, Al-Jouf Agricultural signed a 25-year solar power purchase agreement with ENGIE in September 2023, with average annual payments of SAR 2.9 million over the contract term.
The company obtained the relevant official project license in October 2024, while it had previously expected the project to be completed in Q3 2026.
