Southern Cement said the entire project will commence commercial operations before 2026-end
Southern Province Cement Co. said it had partially accepted and taken over its new production line at the Jazan Cement Plant, which will replace the existing production lines. 
In a statement on Tadawul, the company said the partial handover was part of the project completion process and followed the approved implementation plan.
The remaining project components will be handed over, and the entire project will start commercial operations according to schedule, with completion expected before the end of 2026, the company said.
According to Argaam data, Southern Cement received technical and financial bids in December 2022 for a project to build a production line at its Jazan Cement Plant with a capacity of 10,000 tons per day, replacing the existing production lines.
On May 17, 2023, the company signed a contract worth about SAR 1.24 billion ($330 million) with Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd. to build a production line with a capacity of 5,000 tons per day and infrastructure for another line with the same capacity.
The contract has a 30-month term, the company said.
