Security and History Dialogue concludes in Riyadh with more than 5,200 visitors

RIYADH — The Security and History Dialogue 2026 concluded at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter on Tuesday, drawing more than 5,200 visitors over three days of discussions on Saudi Arabia’s history, security and development.Organized by the Ministry of Interior under the patronage of Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the conference was held under the theme “Our History and Our Future: Security and Development.”The event brought together officials, security and executive leaders, historians, researchers, academics, journalists, writers and cultural figures from Saudi Arabia and abroad.Its program featured more than 60 panel discussions, interactive sessions, speeches and special dialogues, with more than 160 speakers and participants and the involvement of over 30 government, academic and scientific organizations.The sessions, held across the Dialogue Platform and the Security and History Theater, provided more than 60 hours of discussion and interaction.Topics included the history of security in the Saudi state, institution-building, justice, stability, citizenship, national identity, investment, moderation, international relations and security partnerships.Discussions also examined the roles of citizens, families and women, as well as media, culture, the arts, cultural heritage, artificial intelligence and future security.Several sessions explored the life of King Abdulaziz, the development of Saudi state institutions and security agencies, the Kingdom’s care for the Two Holy Mosques and holy sites, and its military and security heritage.The conference also examined Saudi Arabia’s economic, social and cultural transformation and the role of security and stability in supporting development.Special dialogues featuring officials, diplomats and local and international experts offered personal perspectives on the Kingdom’s history and transformation.The event attracted researchers, journalists, cultural figures and students, creating opportunities for discussion across professional and generational backgrounds.The conference was organized in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) as the main partner and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City as the strategic partner. Tuwaiq Academy and the Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Company (Tahakom) participated as leadership partners, alongside ministries, universities and other national institutions.The 2026 conference built on the Security and History Dialogue Forum held in 2025, expanding the event into a three-day program aimed at strengthening awareness of Saudi history, highlighting the role of security in development and documenting the Kingdom’s experience for future generations.
