ADEN — The Yemeni army said Tuesday that it had recaptured the Al-Yatmah area in northern Al-Jawf province from the Houthis amid escalating fighting across several fronts.“Our armed forces managed to liberate the Al-Yatmah area in Khabb wa Al-Shaaf district in Al-Jawf from the grip of the Houthi militias,” the army said in a statement.The army said the operation was part of continued battlefield advances against the Houthis.Al-Yatmah is a key area in Al-Jawf, a strategically important province near the Saudi border. Al-Jawf also borders the oil-rich Marib province, one of the main strongholds of Yemen’s internationally recognized government.The reported advance comes amid intensified fighting between government forces and the Houthis in several provinces, particularly Taiz, Al-Jawf and Al-Bayda, alongside airstrikes on Houthi positions.
