SABIC subsidiary to set up methanol plant in Jubail Industrial City
Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) said its 75%-owned subsidiary, Saudi Methanol Co. (Ar-Razi), received on Sept. 3 the Ministry of Energy’s approval to allocate the feedstock required to establish a methanol production plant with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons in Jubail Industrial City.
In a statement to Tadawul, SABIC said the project aligns with its strategy to create sustainable, long-term value by strengthening its business model to drive future growth and focusing on its core businesses to maximize long-term shareholder returns.
Any material developments will be disclosed at a later stage, including the final investment decision.
