Saudi space sector attracted SAR 2.2 bln new investments in 2025 as the Kingdom expands investment in industry
New investments in Saudi Arabia’s space sector reached around SAR 2.2 billion in 2025, up 16% year-on-year and more than 200% above the 2021 baseline of SAR 750 million, said Abdullah Alswaha, Chairman of the Saudi Space Agency.
Alswaha said the growth in investments reflects the space sector’s transformation into an important economic driver and a contributor to the knowledge economy, as well as increased investment in one of the key sectors of the future, according to the agency’s annual report.
On the sector’s infrastructure, Alswaha said the agency signed an agreement with the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to launch Saudi Arabia’s first satellite dedicated to studying space weather as part of the Artemis II mission.
He added that the agency had completed the satellite’s design, construction and delivery to NASA in preparation for its launch.
