RIYADH — The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation team successfully coordinated four organ retrieval procedures last week involving brain-dead donors, helping save the lives of 14 patients, including four children. This humanitarian initiative was carried out in cooperation and coordination with several medical entities inside and outside the Kingdom. Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation Director General Dr. Talal Al-Goufi said that the organs were allocated in accordance with medical ethics, ensuring fair distribution based on patients’ medical priorities. He noted that the achievement was the outcome of cooperation and coordination among various entities. Al-Goufi praised the efforts of the air medical evacuation department and the medical teams participating in the cases. It is noteworthy that the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation is a national organization dedicated to organ transplantation Saudi Arabia, established by order of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. It provides comprehensive care, develops national organ transplant programs, and reduces the need for patients to receive treatment abroad.
